Your Crew

Captain Rodrigo Pizzarro Marquez

Born and raised in a charming Uruguayan neighborhood, Rodrigo spent his early years barefoot, climbing trees, and playing in the streets with friends. But even then, it was clear where his true passion lay—anything with an engine or that could float. That passion led him to maritime studies at university, and as soon as he graduated, he stepped onto his first vessel, beginning a career that would take him around the globe—from the icy waters of Antarctica to the North Sea and the sun-drenched islands of the Aegean.

Rodrigo’s professional journey began over 17 years ago as a marine engineer. Starting from the ground up as a mechanic, he steadily rose through the ranks—third engineer, second engineer, and eventually achieving the highest certification as a Commercial Chief Engineer Unlimited. His career has given him both hands-on technical expertise and a deep understanding of vessel operations and crew management.

His experience spans a wide variety of vessels, including small boats, cargo ships, tugboats, research vessels, offshore vessels (such as guard, chase, and seismic ships), and hybrid diesel-electric dredgers. In 2016, Rodrigo transitioned into the superyacht industry, where he has spent nearly a decade refining his skills and adapting his vast experience to the high standards of luxury maritime service.

Rodrigo’s passion for the sea extends far beyond the engine room. With a deep love for sailing, he pursued his Yachtmaster Offshore certification and continues to build on that knowledge. Whether he’s skippering, kitesurfing, swimming, or simply watching dolphins play in the bow wave at sunset, his connection to the ocean is unwavering.

With a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and guest experience, Rodrigo brings exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and heartfelt enthusiasm to every charter.

Certifications:

RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Sail & Power – Commercially Endorsed
Marine Engineer Officer Unlimited – Commercially Endorsed (CoC Rule III/2)

Chef Alys Servini

Having grown up with both Welsh and Italian heritage, chef Alys has always felt that cooking was a part of her—an inherited passion rooted in family and tradition. Surrounded by incredible food and sweet treats from an early age, she learned that the kitchen is the true heart of any home. Her first taste of hospitality came as a teenager working in her father's café, where she discovered the joy of making someone’s day better with a smile and a cup of coffee.

Alys went on to study Fine Art and Art History at university, a background that continues to inspire her culinary creativity. Her eye for colour and composition shines through in every beautifully plated dish she serves.

Before becoming a chef, Alys worked as a stewardess on superyachts, where she developed a deep understanding of luxury service, precision, and organization. Yet it was always the galley that drew her in—chatting with chefs, imagining menus, and daydreaming about ingredients.

That passion eventually led her back to what she loves most: creating unforgettable meals with her hands and heart. Now, Alys brings her artistic flair, warm hospitality, and love of food to every table, aiming to craft a dining experience that leaves a lasting.

Boat - The boat was clean and the layout was great for our crew of 5.  Rooms were a great size and it was nice to have three full baths.  Even with 5 plus Rodrigo and Alys we never felt crowded or on top of each other.

Crew - Rodrigo and Alys were a great match with our kids and they were both extremely patient with us!  Rodrigo was so good with the boys and their endless desire to fish, fantastic captain.  We also really appreciated how caring they were about our experience and their collaborative approach to our itinerary.  I think we quickly found out that being on the boat, fishing, seashell hunting and snorkeling was what we prioritized and they worked to maximize that time for us, leading to a terrific trip.  We also really appreciated when they jumped into things that we were doing - question games, fishing, art etc..  Without a doubt they made the trip better and are a fantastic crew.

Food - the food was great, Alys did a fantastic job meeting our various needs.  If you can imagine, feeding tween and teenagers is not straightforward and she did a great job balancing their food requests with what Lisa and I wanted. Kids rated her brownies 10/10!

Overall, I think they were perfect for our family and I really appreciated getting to know them!  I would absolutely recommend them for others looking for a family focused trip."

Thank you for the incredible week. We were blown away starting at our first step on the boat by the welcoming crew and beautiful boat. Each day on the trip was accompanied by delicious meals by Elif, which were all well prepared, planned and full of flavor. While sailing Milla took the time to teach our group to sail and made us feel part of the crew. Our favorite stops through out the trip were Anegada and Virgin Gorda - Tipsy’s was such a fun spot! This will forever be on the top of our trips. We are forever grateful to have experienced sailing on the Apricity.

FEBRUARY 2025

Thanks for the around the world experiences - from the drinks to the food to the cheers (cheers, skål, serefe, sagligimiza, kippis, salute, huzzah). While the wind was strong, we cruised right along. But you didn’t steer us wrong. All the stops were the tops, and the drinks really rocked. The meals were the deals, and you really set our mood, with the amazing food! The tables were set with blingy, and you gave us rides in your dingy. This trip went fast, but it won’t be our last.

FEBRUARY 2024

We cannot thank you enough for making our week in the BVI so incredible! From the moment we stopped onboard, you created an experience that was not only seamless but beyond anything we could have imagined.

Every detail, from the thoughtful itinerary to amazing meals - was perfect. We loved every snorkel spot, every stunning view, and every moment of simply soaking in the beauty of the islands. And our adventures of saving baby goats and sneaking conch shells onboard will definitely go down as highlights. It was clear how much care and expertise went into planning our journey, and we truly appreciate it.

Beyond that, getting to know you both and seeing your passion firsthand was a special part of the trip. Your warmth, energy, and love for what you do made all the difference, and we feel so lucky to have shared this adventure with you.

Thank you again for everything - you made this week one we will never forget! Wishing you smooth sailing and we hope our paths cross again someday.
